Oracle Advanced Security, provides extensive data protection features as an option for the Oracle Database 10g Release 2. First introduced in Oracle8i, Oracle Advanced Security combines network encryption, database encryption, and strong authentication together to help customers address privacy and compliance requirements.

• No modification to applications—Encrypt data in the database or when traveling over your network without requiring any application changes
